2Information overloadNov 09, 2009
Bluntly, this 50-something is too old, tired and lazy for this book. I wanted a book on simple isometric upper-body exercises I could do at home that wouldn't injure me. When it arrived and I saw all the information, explanations and exercises the well-intentioned author included, I got overwhelmed. I'm happy with a nice walk and climbing the stairs a few times a week, if my knees let me. If you want detailed information, this book is for you, as the author did a good job with what she presented. I'll just think about it while I'm admiring my neighbors landscaping as I stroll by.

1Christian excercise?Aug 31, 2009
I have nothing against a Christian exercise book, I just don't want one. It's always difficult to get past the extraneous garbage that fills most workout books, especially ones aimed at women. Tossing in God every other sentence made it practically impossible to extract any useful information from anything but the exercise diagrams, which are sparse, considering the complexity of the exercises. I don't imagine for a moment that I'm doing anything more complicated than a neck roll with any proficiency. I'm probably asking for injury, doing anything else without at least a video.

Oh, and in those instructions--I'm hoping she doesn't intend you to hold for several minutes, as a "count of one thousand one" would indicate. She just means that in the sense of "one mississippi", right? Oh, so clear.

Bottom line: I feel I've wasted my money, jumping in without enough info beforehand, and then certainly not getting that info from the book.

5Informative. Effective.Feb 05, 2009
This book offers most of the same exercises that are in The Miracle 7, plus a selection of many other exercises which are specifically tailored to a woman's needs. I cycle through the routines in The Miracle 7 and then add some exercises from this book for whatever body part(s) is the focus of the day. Between the two books, I think I have just about all I need.

I have tried many exercise programs over the years, and this no-equipment body weight method is - very surprisingly - the absolute best I have found. I started exercising after the birth of my fifth child. Two years after the birth, my stomach had still not gone down. In addition, after the many child-rearing years in which I was totally inactive, I noticed that if one of the toddlers got out the gate and I went to chase after him, after about ten steps I couldn't run anymore and my ankles literally felt like they were going to break off. Being very thin, as well, I became concerned about osteoporosis. All those factors together got me started on a quest to find an effective exercise program. I won't go into the whole journey, but will only say that much searching and thinking and trying have led me finally to this program. Although other programs definitely did some good, I must say that none of them have gotten me this trim and tight and in such good shape. After less than two weeks on the Miracle 7 program, I lost so many inches that all my pants and skirts were falling off of me. I wasn't trying to lose weight to start with, but my protruding stomach had always been a great source of embarrassment to me. No other program ever got that under control. My stomach is now so tight and flat that I can't even believe it is the same one I struggled with my whole life. I really could go on and on about all the changes in my body from these exercises.

In addition to offering effective exercises that require no equipment, this book addresses important issues for women such as eating disorders, menopause, breast cancer, osteoporosis, and many more. (I was glad to read that since these exercises employ self-resistance, they are effective in building bone density.) Some exercises are reported to help heal injuries. There are helpful and relevant questions and answers throughout the book. The exercises are shown in pictures and are explained very clearly.

I would suggest buying both this book and The Miracle 7 which, together, I consider a complete set of exercises and a valuable resource. The Miracle 7 is a good basis for routines if you like things already laid out for you; this book adds more exercises and focuses on health and exercise issues that relate exclusively to women. I plan to buy more copies of this book to give as gifts to friends and relatives.

5NO MORE guilt over not making it to the health club!Oct 29, 2007
I swore after I let go of my last health club membership that I would never again waste the money to belong to one! I just never could fit it into my hectic schedule to get there and the guilt over the wasted membership dues drove me crazy. With Wendie's fitness techniques I now exercise anywhere I am all throughout the day and it doesn't cost me anything more than the one time investment in her book! I traveled to Europe this summer and never had to worry about whether or not the hotels I stayed at had gym equipment. I didn't need it! I am amazed and only wish I would have found out long ago about Wendie. She also just came out with a DVD and it too, is awesome!

1Didn't help meMay 13, 2007
These exercises were complicated and bizarre, and they didn't help me. I am a lifelong fitness expert, and have used a lot of different training programs. I am 35, in great shape, and these exercises actually made my head hurt! No fitness training program has ever given me a headache before!
