 Harbinger Durafoam Exercise MatJul 21, 2010
I love this mat. It is thick enough to not hurt your joints when doing floor work. It is very durable and easy to wipe clean. It is also easy to roll up and the velcro straps are great. Everyone in my class is jealous of the mat and said it looks good enough to relax on. Sue S.

I was looking for a mat to do pilates, yoga, and ab work on. My regular mat was too thin on top of my concrete floors and it was painful on my knees and back. The thickness of this mat is perfect to cushion me from the floor while doing pilates and abs. I like it for yoga too, but the thickness does make it a little harder to find your balance-I consider it an added bonus workout to find my balance. A lot of people complained about their mat smelling, but mine really didn't.

I love the thickness of this mat, it provides plenty of cushioning for ab workouts and stretching. However, the darned thing doesn't stay flat when rolled out. I tried storing it upside down and flat for a week to smooth it out, but when you turn it over the end just rolled up again. I either had a little "pillow" that's curled up under my head after a situp, or my ankles would hit the "pillow" and my feet would hit the hardwood when I brought my legs back down. It's quite frustrating since there are two different sides to this mat (the top is smoother) and I have to set a chair on one end of it to hold the end down.
And just a note, this mat is horrible for yoga. It's far too thick. The thickness is great for cushioning but awful for balance. But my 3 stars is based only on the fact that it doesn't stay flat.

I have been VERY pleased with the mat. It is very soft, not like thinner or hard mats. I have had no problem with durability since I re-roll it after every use. The only issue is that even after several weeks, it smells of the hydrocarbons from which it is made. If you keep your nose a few inches from the mat, the smell is negligible.
