decent bookJul 10, 2010 I bought this book 1 year ago. I was very excited to get it. I read it through and was satisfied with the purchase but not overjoyed. I try to exercise regularly but i am not a huge fitness person. I exercise when i can find time away from work usually 2 times a week and 3 times when i have a less hectic schedule.
This book was useful to me when i needed variety in my exercises. I followed the routines in in the book for several weeks but then i switched back to my usual routine at the gym. I found this book to be helpful in areas where i needed to verify proper technique of exercise and also when i needed to find different exercises to do for a body part. I always refer to it whenever i feel i need a change in routine or some variation.
I cant say after 1 year of having this book my body is well sculpted, but that is more due to my lack of consistency rather than the book. Im positive if you followed this book to word then you would find your body changing for the better.
All in all, i use this book as a reference on many occasions revisiting different styles of exercise, but i do not follow it on a daily basis. If you are looking for a book to motivate you to exercise, try to find another. This book is for people who have beginner knowledge of exercise and already are motivated. It helps you with technique and encourages women to lift weights. I believe that weight lifting for women is a good part of exercise training and i encourage women to try it out...
I think i would tell women to buy this book if you are interested in exercise and would like to learn more about it and some variety in workouts. If you are looking for a book to pump you up to get going then try and find another.

OK, but not greatMay 03, 2010 This book was ok, but it wasn't quite what I expected. I wish there was more variance in the workout routines. For a beginner this book would be good to get.

Love the bookApr 15, 2010 This is great text. I bought it for my mom so she could get on a regular workout routine after buying the men's version for myself. The workouts are laid out fairly well with informative nutritional information, although outdated. But, hell, just hop on the web and grab a new diet there. I love how this book sets up the routines, and describes each workout...don't be fooled by the cover though. It says "14-day Body Sculpting Workouts", which tends to be a bit misleading. The book includes 3 categories: Break-In-Routine, 14-day body sculpting plan, then, the advanced 14-day body sculpting plan. The break-in-routine is where beginners start and is laid out over two weeks, but you increase sets and reps over a period of 13 weeks to not only get your body in great shape, but adapt your body to working out. You then follow with the 6-week "14-day body scultping program". The "14 days" plays in because the workout increases or decreases #reps/#sets, alternates exercises, and shifts between 'giant sets'/modified compound supersets every two weeks...so you don't plateau. Think about all those P90x infomercials and 'muscle confusion', its basically the same thing. You then finish with the 6-week "Advanced program". If you were to follow the book religiously, it would take 25 weeks, which is only right over 6months. The workouts are easy to complete and last no longer than an hour...and they work for diligently. If you want an informative workout guide, and seek a great routine to stick on, get this book...cuz you'll get frigin ripped.
Oh Yeah!Jan 02, 2010 Iused this book in 2000 and gotsome great results. However I was not fully committed and fell off. I shared the book with my son (who purchased the male edtion) and he was also extremely happy with the workout plans. I am back for a second go around with a lot more zeal this time. I like the fact that if you follow the instructions given you can see results in 14 days. This was helpful in being able to stay motivated. I have not used the nutrition guides yet but I plan to be fully committed and learn all the techniques the book promotes.

Body Sculpting Bible for WomenSep 03, 2009 Enjoyable read especially if you are beginning a gym routine. I appreciated the description, pictures and explanations of using correct form for beginners as this has worked well with some informal coaching.
