Good features at a decent price, BPA-freeJul 14, 2010 I bought this water bottle after searching for a 24oz insulated bottle with a straw... no small feat. And to make the search more difficult, I wanted one that was dishwasher safe and had some way of carrying it (loop, handle, whatever). The options at this size are very limited. Actually this is the only one I've found that fits all my requirements. I found 18oz insulated straw bottles in another popular brand, but they had no handle or loop and weren't dishwasher safe. Also worth noting: this one is BPA-free. I might have missed that in the description, but I was glad to see BPA-free on the label on the bottle when it arrived.
I fill it 2/3 with water, 1/3 with ice at around 8:30am and the water is still pretty cool in the early afternoon, even in summer. I have noticed some minor condensation on the hottest days, with most of it being on the rubberized grip part. It's not enough to, like, ruin a table top, but wanted to mention it all the same. It fits in my Honda Odyssey cupholder (which is very generous), but no way would it fit in our Passat's cupholder. So just a consideration. Size is definitely a trade off for capacity + insulation.
Overall, it's easy to use, easy to clean, and has the rare combination of features I was seeking at a reasonable price. So it gets a thumbs up from me.
Prefer Trudeau Cool Off Hydration Bottle - Breast Cancer Pink - 24ozJul 06, 2010 This is my second Trudeau bottle. I love the caps and the bottles. My last one broke--but I carried it everywhere I went for months.
Spend the extra money and get the the "Trudeau Cool Off Hydration Bottle 24oz". This one is farily difficult to grasp as it is very wide.
Stylish, Durable, few minor flawsAug 11, 2009 I bought this water bottle to use at my desk job. It looks nice and it's very durable (I've dropped it and banged it a few times, leaving no noticeable marks). It's relatively odorless, and seems to stay fresh enough even after a week's usage without cleaning.
I do have a few criticisms though. Although it looks stylish to have a clear outside bottle protecting the inner bottle (which holds a little over 24 oz), I would have preferred the bottle to hold water throughout the entire outer layer rather than separating the two, though I suppose if I'd wanted a higher capacity water bottle I should have bought one.
Also, I'm not a huge fan of the rubber straw. I would have preferred a water bottle that just opens and can be sipped. The rubber straw can get a little gunky after a while, especially when you are constantly opening and closing the bottle and the straw gets squished against the lid and whatever debris is in there. I've gotten in the habit of keeping the straw exposed most of the day so as to minimize this issue.
Overall a good product, and serves my needs well. I especially like the carabiner clip that's attached, because then it's easy to attach to my purse and take along with me. I also like the mini handle the carabiner is attached to, as it makes carrying the bottle quite easy.
This water bottle LEAKS!!Jun 07, 2009 I have huge water stains on my car seat where this water bottle has toppled over while driving with the water seeping/leaking out. In addition, the top can be somewhat difficult to twist open, it does not keep liquid cold for very long and there is has been no elimination of condensation. I would not recommend this item except for the fact that some of the proceeds go to cancer research.
Great bottleJun 04, 2009 I use this almost daily and think it's great. For some reason (maybe the bigger than normal straw) I finish off 24 oz of water in record time. I'm definitely drinking more water because of this, which was my main reason for purchase. It mostly sits on my desk and I like it because it doesn't leave a ring. I've taken it on walks and to the park and it works fine but it's not insulated by any means. You may want to look at another option if you want something for outdoor use and want it to stay cold for a long time.
